Oklahoma vs TCU Recap

The Oklahoma Sooners offense showed out in their final home game in the Big 12 with a 69-45 over the TCU Horned Frogs. While there were certainly some big plays made on defense, including a pick six from Billy Bowman, offense was the story of the game for the Sooners. Starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel went 24/38 with 400 yards and 3 TD. Gavin Sawchuk also had himself quite the day with 130 yards on 22 carries with 3 TD. Sawchuk seems to be solidifying himself as “the guy” at running back going into SEC ball next year. A position that the Sooners have seemingly struggled to nail down a clear number one guy in all season.

Perhaps the biggest story on offense though was the performance of wide receiver Drake Stoops, who has cemented his legacy alongside his Dad (former OU head coach Bob Stoops) as one of the all-time Oklahoma greats. Stoops had 12 catches on the day for 125 yards and one TD. A fantastic way to go out for his final game at Owen Field.

Now, the Sooners sit back and see what the outcome of the Oklahoma State vs BYU game will be. It is really simple. Oklahoma State wins, they play Texas for the Big 12 championship. BYU wins, then we have ourselves a Red River rematch for the Big 12 championship.
